Who Are You Listening To

We live in a world filled with voices. Social media tells us what to believe. Podcasts tell us how to think. News outlets interpret the world for us. Influencers offer advice on everything from money and marriage to identity and spirituality. Now artificial intelligence can instantly answer almost any question we ask.

With so many voices competing for our attention, an increasingly important question is: Who should I trust?

Hebrews begins with a remarkable statement: God has spoken.

“God, after He spoke long ago to the fathers in the prophets in many portions and in many ways, in these last days has spoken to us in His Son…” (Hebrews 1:1–2).

God has not left us to guess who He is.

Throughout the Old Testament, He progressively revealed Himself through prophets, promises, sacrifices, and Scripture. But all of it was pointing forward to something greater. Someone greater.

God's final and fullest revelation isn't merely a message He gave. It's a Son He sent.

Jesus isn't simply another voice among many. He isn't another religious teacher offering an opinion about God. Hebrews tells us He is the Creator and Sustainer of everything, “the radiance of His glory and the exact representation of His nature.” 

So perhaps the question for this week isn't whether we're listening.

It's whose voice carries the greatest authority in our lives. In a world where everyone has something to say, God has spoken.
